About Dave Noble

The managing director of Intelligen, Dave Noble, is an insightful and results-focused analyst relations and market intelligence professional with more than 20 years of experience in the Australian and Asia/Pacific IT&T markets.

Prior to establishing Intelligen, Noble was responsible for analyst relations, market intelligence and strategic planning activities for Hewlett-Packard's enterprise systems business, covering 13 countries in the Asia/Pacific region. During this time, he established HP's best practice analyst relations program, elevated the role of market intelligence in the business, and developed more effective internal and external market data analysis processes. He also warned HP executives to prepare for the pending 2001 server market downturn several months before mainstream industry analysts.

Noble joined HP after 11 years in senior analyst, sales and management roles at IDC Australia, a subsidiary of one of the world's leading IT market research firms. During this time, he developed hands-on experience managing large and small research projects, streamlined research processes and helped shape IDC's business strategy in Australia and Asia.

Before moving into research, Noble was a highly-regarded IT journalist who authored news stories and feature articles across the full spectrum of IT industry technologies and issues. His media roles included IT editor of The Australian Financial Review, editor-in-chief of Computerworld Hong Kong and Computerworld Southeast Asia, news editor of Computerworld Australia, and computer writer for The Sydney Morning Herald.
